Balgreen Community Garden Action Mornings start on 9th March - do you live locally? Can you join us?

Action Mornings

Learn more about the fantastic wildlife on your doorstep and how you can help it thrive by coming along to one or all of these community action mornings.  There are plenty of jobs for all ages and abilities.  Not to mention a Hot Drink and biscuits thrown in for good measure!

Meet 10.30am – 1pm 

in the Garden at the bottom of Pansy walk off Balgreen Road

Thursday 9th March 10.30am  – 1pm.  Getting site ready for Balgreen school working in the garden. Jobs will include putting in interpretation sign, willow fencing, digging in weed suppressant fabric, topping up gravel, preparing bird / bat boxes and bug hotels.

Wednesday 12th April 10.30am – 1pm - General clean-up of the area both the garden and the river.  Waders, grappling hooks will be on hand.  Help weed the raised bed, maintain willow fence, bark and gravel areas.  Find out if anything has moved into the wildlife homes built by the school.

Thursday 11th May 10.30am – 1pm.  Summer planting tasks.  We need to plant ferns in the bark area.  Alpines in the drystone wall and enrich the bee and butterfly bank.  Help find a suitable place for wild raspberries to thrive for everyone.
