For the last year we have been lucky to borrow a cargo bike from Sustrans ‘Cargo Bike Library Project’, to deliver volunteer tasks along the walkway and reduce our reliance on the van. It was well used by staff and has become regular sight along the walkway. Late 2020 we bid to the Scottish Governments Community Climate Asset Fund for our own electric cargo bike and to fund some energy-saving measures in our Centre including LED lighting upgrading and insulation. This week we were delighted to learn that we have been successful in our bid to reduce our carbon footprint. #CCAFScot. Click on this link for more information; https://www.keepscotlandbeautiful.org/news/jan-2021/delivering-scotland-s-green-recovery/

The kind of bike we need has to be very touch and able to carry heavy loads of tools and rubbish, so needs to be custom made, we cannot wait for it to be delivered. Pictured is our current loan from Sustrans.
