Keeping the Walkway trim and proper

Being attacked by nettles, wayward brambles reaching out to grab you or rain gathered in butterbur leaves soaking the bottom of your trouser can be an issue when walking in summer as wayside vegetation thrives in the warm weather. Over the last few weeks our volunteer teams have been hard at work trimming the walkway and making it fit for all the summer visitors.

St Georges school for Girls joined us for 4 days of their enrichment week and we put them to work trimming back the path and clearing steps from Murrayfield to Dean Village – what a great job they did

Students from Ohio University tackled the Gorgie to Saughton section and our volunteers headed up to Currie and Juniper Green to try and maintain path widths before the resurfacing works begin and gave the Dean Village and Cannonmills sections some attention. Thank you hero’s in highvis!!
