We have been working with local artist Kate George and many members of the community to create some fabulous designs for the proposed mural at Coalie Parks western edge and the steps to Largo Place.
We held two community workshops at Leith Library and one at Kates print studio at Out of the Blue.
The nature of the river emerged as the key theme along with other strong graphic images and shapes. This is the proposed design for the section of wall at the western edge of the park, where the brick structures are alongside the riverside path
And this is the design for the steps up to Largo Place – highlighting the connection to Keddie Park and adding colour to a very dull area of the walkway
Work starts early October initially to undercoat the walls then add in all these lovely colours and nature inspired motifs.
