October was an exciting month for Phase 2 of the project. With the wall and path repairs complete, our community mural project got underway with the transformation of the brick structure to the west of the site. The design was created by Kate George, inspired by art workshops we held locally in July and painted using many hundreds of volunteer hours. What do you think? This work will continue in the spring on the steps to Largo Place / Keddie Gardens.
We also received benches donated by Network Rail, formerly from Haymarket Station, these are currently being ‘upcycled’ and will be installed along the riverside on 19th November. Painted using colours from the mural.
Finally many hundreds of wildflower bulbs, seeds and plants have been planted so watch for them thriving this coming spring
