Additional Info

Join us for a special guided walk as we uncover the rich and evolving history of The Coalie. Once a bustling coal yard and railway hub just off Coburg Street, the space has undergone many transformations over the centuries.

From its roots as an industrial heartland to its rebirth as a riverside park in 1982, and now its ongoing revitalisation through the Coalie Park Improvement Project, this unique site tells a powerful story of change, community, and conservation.

The walk will be led by Helen from the Water of Leith Conservation Trust, who will share insights into the area’s remarkable 400-year journey — past, present, and future.
