PHASE 1 – Followers of this project will have noticed the transformation of the site is well underway. So far 100m of pathway has been upgraded including solar lighting, fabulous new benches installed, trees and hedgerow planted and riverside steps upgraded. P1 Solutions (the contractors) are on the home straight and hope to be completed by the end of April (weather permitting). We are looking forward to seeing the final resin surface going down and adding in some more plants and wildflower seeds. Meanwhile the site remain closed and the diversion in place. We hope to have an opening ceremony in May and a proper celebration funday on 1st September.
PHASE 2 We are currently seeking planning permission for Phase 2 of the project comprising development of seating area with planters, creation of skate features, improvement to existing seating areas and paths and creation of public art works and street art murals in the area to the west of the bridge – check out Edinburgh Councils Planning Portal to see the design or comment the ref no is 24/00957/FUL. But in the meantime the area along the riverside will be repaired and upgraded & we hope this contractor will start mid May
