18 years ago Ross’ life was saved by an otter. He was in a dark place until he met a special female otter who changed everything. Since then he has been travelling all over Britain tracking, photographing and writing about otters. Now settled in Edinburgh he has spent the last three years filming and photographing the otters on the Water of Leith which will be the focus of his next book “The Urban Otter”.
The Water of Leith Conservation Trust works to conserve and enhance the river, its heritage and wildlife: The Trust promotes education and recreation through the Visitor Centre, and works with volunteers and community groups to deliver around 240 river clean-ups and habitat improvement tasks annually.
